How to write your photo essay?

I saw Leanna Chong's status today as she mention that Photo Essay is not that easy. Indeed yes. Capturing a photo is not easy as you creating a story. When you want to be a photographer, it is important for you to know the subject of your photo. For example, you take a bird photo, there must be something special about the bird right? What it's name? Where did it come from? How is the population going on and so on. Remember my quote? Photography is art and art is infinity? A photo not only tells what we see but what's inside it. How it reflect to our life or the environment. I might not a photography graduated but I did my own research on photography because it is my passion to learn more than what I know. Furthermore, this is what Photojournalism do. Here are some tips for you or you may take this as your assignment. :)

1) Examine your subject before take shooting - just like drafting your essay before start compiling
2) Take a shot or a few - pointing out for aim or purpose
3) Start writing your essay - Remember that a collection of photos can make a photo essay, but a collection of photos is not consider as photo essay
4) Photo essay can be a caption, a simple essay, an article or up to a printing publication.
5) For more tips and example, visit them:

a) The Photo Essay - They tells what we see and what they see, done by several Asian Photographer
b) UNICEF photo essay - Helps United for Children all over the world

And below is my example.. Hope you understand a bit about it. :)

Sipadan island has been nominated in one of the wonders of the world. It was once attacked by the Abu Sayyaf group. Since then, most of the people scared to go to this island especially local. For me, anywhere can be dangerous and there are no reason not to go to this beautiful place. Sabah Park is protecting this island from pollution and it is why there are no chalet or a place to stay here, only the army and the rest of Sabah park crew who stay here and take a good care of this place. I highly recommend local and other country to visit here. And please bring your underwater camera. There are magical creatures down there!

What is your ambition or career option?

I believe all of us ever been ask such question like, what you want to be when you grow up? What kind of career are you looking for? What is your ambition? Or other question which answer the job name known as career. Actually, I want to be a teacher before I ended working under Logistics department in private sector. Maybe it's not my faith to be ended as a teacher or it is my destiny to work here. Nevertheless, I enjoy working here even the expectation from the management was higher than what I can do in some part.
I read the news today, and it is common when I open up a newspaper I normally look at the ads and also the vacancy available. It's not that I'm looking for a job, but I'm quite surprise that with so many vacancy, we still looking our friends or new generation headache jobless. Life never promise you anything, never complete until you end your last breathe. When I was a kid, I just cannot wait to enter school, but when I'm in school, I wait for recess time, after recess, looking forward to leave the room after the last class. Just like SPM, after SPM, cannot wait to step into college for a new and mature thinking. It goes well, but after the last exam I just cannot wait to start my career. Now that I'm working, I realized that Career only for the business people, they work for their own profit. I thought I want a career but it turns out I wanted paychecks. It is true though. ;) Wait.. tomorrow is thursday right? Meaning, we have one more day to go. ;)

I went to Sarawak again

For the 4th time.. I did visit Kuching again.. ;) And come back with full of hope, brighter future and will share the good news I gain from it some other time. Well, I know I sound weird a bit after reaching KK yesterday. With a little of Kuching accent, I thank to the hentai hero for his kindness to fetch us from the airport. I talked a lot and I'm very glad that the hentai hero didn't feel bad after all. I'm kinda missing the other hentai subordinates too. But I'm very sorry, I didn't have much time to do some small shopping from Kuching as a gift for the rest like always but I did took some pictures for us to miss Kuching. Hope you like the night photo taken at Waterfront, Kuching.

The boat and the mountain

I went to Shangri La Tanjung Aru yesterday and I never thought that I could catch the Kinabalu Mountain from there. This view remind me of the song The birds and the trees.. Let me tell you 'bout the birds and the bees and the flowers and the trees, the moon up above, and the thing called love~ try to sing like this.. "Let me tell u bout the boat and the hills.. and the mountain and the seas.. the cloud up above.. and the thing called love~" Sounds good too right?

Samsung PL50 – My new family

On 30/10/2009, last month, I went to SenQ and bought a new digital compact camera. Yes, I might sound nuts because I already have my Samsung L73 (7mp), the ultimate Nikon D90, can’t get enough of Lomography – Ultra Wide Slim, and the new member of the family, Samsung PL50 (10.2 mp). It cost me about RM640 including a 4GB SD memory card and the box itself. I had to look for the case later. I had took several pictures before, but I’m fully utilised it during our journey to Kota Belud on 20-21 November 2009. The pixelayerion should go together but due to other commitment, only Merl and I manage to go to Kuai’s house. It’s a beautiful and a great escape for people like us. :) I have another photoshoot and event this late afternoon so I can’t say much about this but, I would like to share some of the pictures and hope you can wait until all uploaded. All pictures during the KB trip were taken by Samsung PL50. It has the good features like Beauty Shot, Landscape where it makes my life easier especially blogging part. Enjoy the pictures~ ;)

Sharing is the best part

I met Nora Carol (one of my fav photographer) yesterday and I really overjoyed with what I have learned from her. She is a very humble and super-shy type of girl, but her pictures talks a millions of words and thoughts that I cant even imagine. Beside all the knowledge that I have, I learn that every picture must have one focus point, even u on landscape. Then, foreground is important to complete a picture. Filter is a must and that's why they invented it. ;) And look what is the result of our sharing??

Last week on 16th July, DaOne suddenly sms me ask me out to catch sunset. So I suggest him the easiest way to take sunset. I mean, no busy car, less distraction. And so, we hit Sapangar Bay.. :) The location is near to Petronas depot. Below are some of the pictures to share with you. :)
